Portal 2 draws from the award-winning formula of innovative gameplay, story, and music that earned the original Portal over 70 industry accolades and created a cult following.

The single-player portion of Portal 2 introduces a cast of dynamic new characters, a host of fresh puzzle elements, and a much larger set of devious test chambers. Players will explore never-before-seen areas of the Aperture Science Labs and be reunited with GLaDOS, the occasionally murderous computer companion who guided them through the original game.

The game’s two-player cooperative mode features its own entirely separate campaign with a unique story, test chambers, and two new player characters. This new mode forces players to reconsider everything they thought they knew about portals. Success will require them to not just act cooperatively, but to think cooperatively.

  • Extensive single player: Featuring next generation gameplay and a wildly-engrossing story.
  • Complete two-person co-op: Multiplayer game featuring its own dedicated story, characters, and gameplay.
  • Advanced physics: Allows for the creation of a whole new range of interesting challenges, producing a much larger but not harder game.
  • Original music.
  • Massive sequel: The original Portal was named 2007's Game of the Year by over 30 publications worldwide.
  • Editing Tools: Portal 2 editing tools will be included. Note: To be made available after launch.

I have to say, this game is just a joy. I can't say I have very many games that I continue to go back and play over an over. This is one. My list is pretty small, Vampire: Bloodlines, Knights of the Old Republic, Elder Scrolls pack (Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim), and Neverwinter Nights II. Highly recommended to ANY type gamer.

Portal 2 is the sequel to Portal. You play as Chell, who was dragged back into Apature by the Party Escort Bot ( Awww, There was a party!?!). She wakes up nine....ninine............nine years in the future and Apature is on the brink of destruction. She is guided by Wheatly, a personality core. You accidentally wake up GLaDOS who also was brought back by the Party escort bot. She brings you back into testing, until Wheatly helps her escape. Wheatly then puts his core in GLaDOS, corrupting him. He puts GLaDOS in a potato, and sends you into the bowels of Apature. You must find GLaDOS, and work with her to stop Wheatly from destroying Apature in an Atomic Fireball........... In a side story, GLaDOS leads Atlas and P-Body through a 2-Player adventure in Co-op

Valve made it even better than portal 1

Every thing is just about perfect so I don't have to write a review but I will.

Story

Doug Ratman (the only nurotoxen survivor) saved chell from being murdered. When Chell wakes up, she is greeted by a new robot named wheatly. Wheatly helps Chell through a series of puzzels and disappears for a while while GLaDOS retakes the center stage. The story is funny at times and most of the "dark humor" is gone but that doesn't mean it loses its portal charm.

Concept

The concept remains the same from portal 1, but new elements are included. Gone is the annoying bouncing energy ball and it has been replaced with the lazer other new items are the glass weighted storage cube, light bridges, gels and trust fling panels all these new elements make portal two the best it can be. The graphics even on the lowest setting are still very good

Multiplayer

Try it for yourself portal 2's multiplayer is epic, but somewhat shorter than the main game.

Bad

There isn't much wrong with this game exept that valve crammed so much into it it had serious lag and sometimes even some crashes on my computer unless I took all the visual effects to low, but if you have windows 7 or vista it should work fine. I also didn't like playing with people that didn't know what they were doing online so do the one player mode before the two player mode.

Verdict

Portal two is an exelnt game and you should buy it now not to mention you can make your own levels using the steam workshop it will be worth every penny if you download it now
