The pirate Freebooter Orks have arrived to take advantage of this and loot the sector, the vile forces of Chaos continue to spread their blasphemy, the Eldar of Craftworld Alaitoc work to recover key artifacts from their past and the feral Tyranids remaining from the failed Hive fleet invasion have suddenly re-established contact with the Hive mind.

The game is really a good game, though it is a little too stylized for me. I like things more like the old DOW games and not something I have to follow a laid out map to complete. Action is fine but i like to fort up and create a lot of my own stuff. I also like to modify games as I did the old DOW games, where your men have more hit points, you have more power, recresition, etc., Unfortunately I could find no Corsix Studio modder for the new games, I own all of these but did not get to play them very long.

The last part is the number one reason I no longer buy or go for DOW games. Now you have to download and use STEAM in order to play these games, which would be fine if it worked right all the time. THe first two DOW 2 games, I bought, I could never get Windows Live to recognize my ID etc., in the first. And even thugh Windows Live was not used in the Chaos RIsing, my ID etc, was somehow forgotten, and could never be activied again. At least I never could get it to work again. And the third title and best game in my opinion of the DOW 2 games, DOW Retribution, I liked. Not as well as DOW Soul Storm but I did like it. Of course when you use STEAM it downloads the add ons upgrades, etc., automatic and while downloading the upgrade or patch, whichever, for Retribution, something happened which did not let the game completely download and it would no longer work. I tried reloading it again and everything I could think of but to no avail. I contacted STEAM Works but didn't get much satisfaction from them. As a result I can no longer play the game or any of the others for that matter, and have removed these from my computer.

The games, while I didn't and don't like these as well would be fine if whoever writes and publishes these would go back to letting Game Spy power these, but STEAM, at least for me has done a very poor job and never seem to care or make the products good. I wish I could still play Retribution but I can't. Very Disappointing,
