Steam account required for game activation and installation.

Threatened by an unknown enemy, the Earth’s governments unite to form a secret paramilitary organization, known as XCOM, to combat this extraterrestrial attack. As the commander of XCOM, you control the global defense team and its resources in a battle against the terrifying alien invasion.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown is a reimagining of X-COM, the classic strategy game from 1993, and developed by the award-winning creators of Civilization. You will control the fate of the human race by creating and managing a fully operational base, researching alien technologies, planning combat missions, and controlling soldier movement in battle.

  • Worldwide Threat: Combat spans the globe as the XCOM team engages in over 70 unique missions, interacting and negotiating with governments around the world.
  • Strategic Base:  Recruit, customize and grow unique soldiers and manage your personnel. Detect and intercept the alien threat as you build and expand your XCOM headquarters.
  • Strategy Evolved: XCOM: Enemy Unknown couples tactical turn-based gameplay with incredible action sequences and on-the-ground combat.
  • Tactical Combat: Direct soldier squads in turn-based ground battles and deploy air units such as the Interceptor and Skyranger.

Half the game you have no control over anything. Often when you move a unit it goes to the wrong spot, and if its the last unit your moving you are now stuck unable to load a game or do anything untill the computer finishes! You can escape out of long boring conversations/video you have seen a billion times. The mechanics seemed flawed, I hit more when I have a 9% chance of hitting then when I have a 50% chance of hitting. Several bugs, most graphic in nature still plague the game. Save often, and be prepaired for boredom if you purchase this game.

What a great treat - not a trick! Graphics are excellent, though the Mature rating could have been avoided with less gore. Game play stands on its own. Would like to have seen this

All of the features you would expect from Firaxs, with the classic feel of the original game.

Finally, a version of XCOM that will beat out the original!

I will state up front that I played all of the original XCOM games, so I am somewhat biased, but at the same time I had high expectations.

The game exceeded all of my expectations, and my only complaint is that it did not last longer. I feel like the company did what every other game company is doing and ignored content for the sake of improving graphics. You can see this in the fact that their trailer had no game play in it.

The visuals are very nice. Gameplay is awesome, as would be expected for the XCOM series, but I felt like the game ended too quickly having finished it in 40 hours, and I was pushing it out as much as I could at that. It seems like you get to the end game very quickly.

Also, it seemed too rehearsed with very specific events happening within each month and always the game pushing you to the end game without giving you much time to research a new technology you just learned. I think this was on purpose, stating that if aliens were to attack you would have a very short time to get ready and respond, so I don't ding it heavily for this, but it is a game and could have had much more content.

It was very entertaining, and I look forward to sequels!
